As a woman of a certain age I applaud Frances McDormand. Every time a woman goes under the knife in order to look younger, she does a disservice to  womanhood in general.
What they're saying is: older is bad. Aging is something to be avoided.
And wearing Spanx? Well, who are you trying to kid? It's just your grandma's girdle with a sexier name.
