Leaving Las Vegas....

Wow, I can honestly say that I have never, ever been so very glad to be back home in Vancouver! My husband and I spent 3 l-o-n-g days last week in Vegas. He had a trade show and I went along for what I thought would be 3 relaxing days poolside with the odd break for shopping. We stayed at one of the ''nicer'' hotels (The Wynn) but it was anything BUT relaxing! Vegas has always been a party town but seriously, does there have to be loud club music blasting from every speaker around the pool! Reading a book was impossible, even with my ipod stuck in my ears, I couldn't drown out the incessant beat.
The pic here is of the view from our room-concrete and flashing signs everywhere. I actually volunteered to come here I kept asking myself ???
Some wise person once said something like the reason people go on vacation is so they appreciate how wonderful it is back at home and I couldn't agree more. Three days in this desert hell somehow felt like 3 months. As we began our descent on Friday back into the Vancouver airport I marveled at how lush and green everything was. It was as though I was seeing this place for the first time! We had parked our car at the airport lot and on the short drive back to our home I cranked up the Bon Jovi tune " I Love This Town!"
We are so blessed here on the Canadian west coast. This truly is the best place on earth!
